Drury has a long list of awards and recognitions that its faculty has received, and as of March 6, Barbara Weathers was added to that list with the recognition she has received from the state of Missouri House of Representatives. Weathers was honored for several accomplishments including:
Considerable distinction as the Director of Outreach Activities for Drury's CGCS since 2006.
Initiating the Capitol Internship Program by serving as faculty advisor to CGCS student Amanda Woods
Serving as an adjunct Instructor of Communications at Drury since 2002.
Weathers has been employed at Drury since 2002, but has been at her current position as Director of Outreach Activities with CGCS since 2006. It is in this position, where she has been able to become a faculty advisor to student Amanda Woods. Woods wanted to work with Representative Sara Lampe, but knew this would be something that would require her to move to Jefferson City. Weathers was able to sponsor Woods and make it possible for Woods to take the opportunity.
Weathers has believes that higher education is a vital part in people’s lives and works hard to help others achieve their goals. “I truly believe in the benefits of obtaining a college degree and that Drury University is one of the best universities in the state of Missouri. It was nice to receive recognition for my passion for education.”
