Drury Students Chosen to Attend Special Performance
Two Drury seniors will take their talent to the Great Plains Theatre Conference later this spring.
B.J. Hursh and Jim Anderson have been a part of the Drury Theatre department for their entire Drury career and have used their abilities as actors and playwrights to take them to the next level. Hursh and Anderson will be taking an original work entitled, 1689 , which features a comedic performance of how England's Bill of Rights was written on one dark night. They play the many circumstances that make this task quite difficult to humorous effect.
The fate of England is in only a few hands; these hands are a little questionable on sanity and reason. The play was performed in Drury's “Short and Funny,” which features original work from Drury students and faculty.
Both Hursh and Anderson are seniors who have co-written five plays and acted within the Drury Theatre department and the wider Springfield community. Both plan on continuing onto graduate school to pursue degrees in acting and playwriting and continue on with careers in acting.
