Drury University SIFE holds first annual ethics scavenger hunt
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Over 75 area college students took time out of their Saturday morning to learn about ethics. In partnership with local businesses, Drury Students In free Enterprise held their first annual ethics scavenger hunt, in which teams of students drove from business to business where they were presented with an ethical dilemma that was relevant to that business. The students then had 15 minutes to formulate a response, the businesses then judged which response they deemed to be most ethical, and the winning team was given prizes for each team member, by that business. The team then had to solve a riddle or puzzle to get a map to their next business location. "This was a revolutionary way of bringing students and local businesses together to address the issue of ethics, which is as important as ever in today's business world," said Yacine Chettouh, the Drury SIFE project leader for the Ethics Scavenger Hunt. "I am happy to say that we have already received a lot of positive feedback from participants. Considering the popularity of this event, we would be crazy not to do this again next year."
The teams were made up of three students, each team was given a clue at each business to find the next location. The six businesses that participated were, Aire-Master of America, Best Buy, Dynamic Earth, Home Depot, Hosmer King & Royce and Positronic Industries.
