Gifted Achievement
It is common that gifted students become uninterested in school, causing significant problems with achievement. While this achievement gap might not be for academic reasons, there is still a need for training among educators and parents on motivating gifted students who are at risk. Developmental, social and cultural factors affect behavior and performance. Understanding how these factors manifest themselves in child development, behavioral problems and academic failure is essential if teachers and parents are to have success in closing the achievement gap.
This presentation provides an overview of the essential factors affect\ting child development, behaviors and performance. It provides interventions that can be instituted both in the classroom and school wide. These strategies have been correlated to improved behavior and academic performance of students that do not come to school ready to learn.
Mr. Sanchez will bring to us a research-based presentation that promises to be engaging and inspiring. By understanding the constellation of environmental and hereditary factors which are represented in our gifted students parents and educators will be better equipped to respond. As president of Resiliency, Inc., Mr. Sanchez speaks across the country on implementing a brain-based response to bullying and closing the achievement gap.
