Student Teaching Applicants
Applications for student teaching are due:
Teacher Education Alliance Application
Praxis II:
It is required to attempt the appropriate Praxis II exam the semester prior to student teaching. Refer to the Praxis II exam codes to be sure you are registered for the correct exam. Student teaching placements are not finalized until a score is on file with the School of Education and Child Development.
Fingerprinting:
All students approved for student teaching will be provided information about completing FBI fingerprinting, which is required for a student teaching placement and state teacher certification. Student teaching will not begin until a fingerprinting clearance letter is received by the School of Education & Child Development office in Lay Hall. Fingerprinting results are sent to DESE at the time of state certification recommendation. If a student needs their fingerprinting results sent to DESE or a school district prior to recommendation, they must send a request to Dr. Kelly Lacara at klacara@drury.edu.
Fees:
Students enrolled in EDUC 476, EDUC 477 or EDUC 478 are assessed a $100 student teaching fee. This fee supports necessary cooperating teacher assignments.
Beginning August 2012 the fee will be $200 for in-area student teaching and $400 for out-of-area student teaching.
