SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Sept. 24, 2008 — Internationally known organist Andrew Scanlon will be performing on the Chalfant Organ in the century-old, newly renovated Stone Chapel on the Drury University campus Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will include organ solos spanning from Johann Sebastian Bach in the Baroque to Olivier Messiaen from a more modern era. Also included in the performance will be works of Alexandre Guilmant, Herbert Howells, Frank Bridge, Joseph Willcox Jenkins and Marcel Lanquetuit
A native of Methuen, Massachusetts, Scanlon resides in Pittsburgh, PA where he is a member of the organ faculty at Duquesne University, Director of Music at the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh and Director of the Pittsburgh Compline Choir.
