Students learn what it takes to produce a live music show
DU Uncut was born out of Drury University's Television Studio Production class which has been shooting the artists and bands featured on the show since the Spring of 2006. Students in the class train in a real television studio, which includes a 15ft Boom. Each semester the new studio crew learns the fundamentals of camera direction, studio lighting and setup, floor managing, and audio engineering (in which they are assisted by one of two professional audio engineers).
Each band or artist is taped with 5 digital cameras. All audio input is controlled by the audio engineer then mixed later on Pro Tools software.
Once the bands and artists have been filmed, it's up to the show's student editors and producers in post-production to get the show ready for the air.
