A live music show designed for a diverse public audience and produced entirely by students with the support of professionals.
The Southwest is home to some incredible musicians who may never find a place in today's superficial music industry. They come to Drury University from Dallas, St. Louis, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Memphis. They're the best flat top pickers, piano players, singers, and song writers that you'll never hear on commercial radio.
Our hour long show has pace and variety. One episode consists of 14 different artists. One minute you'll hear jazz then a seasoned country picker. The next it's rockabilly, blues, or a combination of the two. The only music you won't hear on DU Uncut is bad music.
Shot in a television studio on the campus of Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, DU Uncut features original music performed by professional musicians. Taped with 5 cameras––one on a 15 ft boom––and with two professional audio engineers on staff editing with Pro Tools software, it's the best thing to happen to public television in the mid- and southwest.
The second season of DU Uncut is currently in production and set to air later this year.
All music rights have been cleared for broadcast.
DU Uncut is owned, underwritten, and sponsored by Drury University.
DU Uncut is shot on DV Cam and is available in all broadcast formats.
