"To increase economic opportunity and social mobility among first-generation and other historically underserved students through the promotion and expansion of college programs that serve them.
As a leader and expert in college access and success for first-generation and other historically underserved students, Center for Student Opportunity will bridge the divide between leading institutions of higher education and those that most need college guidance, preparation and admissions assistance."

Mission Statement
Center for Student Opportunity™ (CSO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting higher education opportunities for first-generation and other historically underserved college-bound students.
Center for Student Opportunity intends to, over the next several years, become a nationally recognized clearinghouse of important information on local, regional, and national programs that assist the target student population in college guidance, preparation and admission. CSO will also serve as a conduit between such students and a large number of colleges and universities that have targeted first-generation and underserved students for admission. Eventually, as Center for Student Opportunity grows, it will also look to expand its mission by collaborating with colleges to develop outreach, recruitment and retention programs and assisting community youth organizations in growing their college preparation and guidance efforts.
