Welcome International Students

Drury University welcomes students from around the world. Young men and women from more than 50 countries are studying at Drury. They come because of our financial value, strong academic reputation, and excellent location.

The value of a Drury education is a distinctive draw.  It has been ranked by the U.S. News & World Report in the top 15 Midwestern universities and in the top four Midwestern "Great Schools at Great Prices" since 1999. Few universities match the outstanding instruction, fine facilities, personal services and successful placement of graduates for such reasonable tuition and fees.

The university integrates liberal arts (education of the whole person) with professional career preparation. This happens in an environment where teachers know students well because classes are small and one-on-one collaboration between faculty and students is encouraged. Scholarly faculty members (from Harvard, MIT, Texas A & M, Oxford and many other prestigious schools) are distinguished in their fields of study. They choose to teach in an environment that promotes teaching as the top priority, even above personal research interests.

Professors teach all classes (no graduate student assistants teach undergraduates as is the practice in larger universities). Drury has been recognized by the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. as a model for other universities regarding its hands-on research approach to learning. Exciting and unexpected opportunities await our students. For example, on a recent study abroad in Greece, two Drury students were invited to come back and intern with the chief architect restoring the Greek Acropolis.

We are in the middle of the U.S.A. where the pace is easy, cost of living low, and the environment is clean and safe. People are friendly and caring.

In the community of Springfield (300,000), many big-city advantages exist (good medical services, entertainment, conveniences) without big-city ills such as high crime and pollution. You hear mostly English spoken and the cultural experiences are truly American. The region is scenic and forested with many lakes and rivers.

We invite you to learn more about us and ask questions. We're here to assist you and look forward to the opportunity to do so. Best wishes on your journey into higher education in the U.S.A. We hope it leads you to Drury!
