Commencement Regalia

Drury University began using a gown rental program in 2010 that allows students to keep their cap and tassel, but return their gown after the ceremony takes place. Caps and gowns will be available for pickup from the business office Wednesday through Saturday the week of the commencement ceremony.

Tassels should be worn on the right, and should not be moved after the ceremony.
Caps and gowns will be distributed from the business office in Burnham Hall. Gowns need to be returned immediately following the ceremony.

Graduates should dress appropriately for the commencement ceremony.

Dress Code

Women: Please wear shoes for walking in procession and climbing steps to the platform. No corsages are to be worn on the gown. Secure mortarboard with hairpins.

Men: Please wear a suit and/or a long-sleeved white shirt and tie with dark colored pants. Wear mortarboard at all times while marching. Be sure it is on when you receive your degree. Remove it for prayers and at other times when President Parnell also removes his mortarboard.

Pick-up Times

Caps and gowns will be distributed from the business office in Burnham Hall. Dates and times for cap and gown pick up for the Springfield campus are listed below.
