MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Drury University's Tonya Choate fired her second straight round of 2-over-par 74 Tuesday to claim the individual title in the Northeastern State University Classic at Cobblestone Creek Golf Club.
The sophomore from Mount Vernon finished with a 148 total, good for a one-stroke victory over Western Washington's Katja Trygg (76-73 149).
Choate's performance lifted the Panthers into a second-place finish in the 16-team meet. Western Washington won the tournament with a 614 total, six shots better than coach Lisa Tinkler's Drury squad, which followed Monday's 313 effort with a solid 307 on Tuesday.

The Panthers are idle until next Monday and Tuesday, when they will host the annual Drury Fall Invitational at Springfield's Rivercut Golf Course.
