While listening to Ruby, it was as if light bulbs were going off in my head. I suddenly realized why techniques were not working on certain students. I had to start operating on their level and with vocabulary and ideas that their community would understand. I acquired the knowledge and ideas to do this from listening to Ruby's session. Make it more relative, not just info, but practical ways to implement things in the classroom.
