Drury welcomes transfer students from universities in the U.S. and abroad.
The university maintains the highest academic standards for admission, but also considers carefully all factors of a student’s record and experiences and potential in making individual admission decisions.
Several weeks are needed to complete the process of admission and transfer credit evaluation, and to allow for overseas mail delivery and the student visa application process. Therefore, the recommended deadline for applying for admission and completing the application is March 1. The latest applications are accepted is 60 days prior to the start of the semester.
To apply as a Transfer Student, please submit the following:
Complete the APPLICATION FORM (Printable Form) or the ONLINE APPLICATION for Undergraduate International Student Admission.
Secondary school records, including a copy in English. (Students with British system O level examination or comparable national examinations must present a minimum of 5 passes with credit.
Official transcripts from all previous colleges and universities
English proficiency is not measured only by TOEFL or SAT scores. Each individual is assessed and placed in studies best suited to his or her language level. We want to help you succeed in your studies and can provide the language support you may need to do that.
Students with TOEFL scores of 530 (paper based test) or 197 (computer based test) or successful completion of Drury's English For Academic Purposes EAP teacher recommendations, are admitted to the degree program.
Those with below 500 TOEFL or no score, may be granted conditional admission to the degree program. These students enroll first in the full time Intensive English Program to raise their English proficiency before beginning degree studies.
TOEFL/SAT requirements may be waived for students who transfer 30 credit hours or more from U.S. colleges and universities
Complete and return the Statement of Financial Support (Printable Form) or the ONLINE Statement of Financial Support.
If you choose to complete the online versions of the forms you must also print off the signature form and mail it.
Complete the required essay: why you want to attend a university in the U.S. specifically, Drury University, or submit a writing sample of your choice.
If Transferring from U.S Colleges and Universities also submit:
Financial aid transcripts from previous U.S. colleges attended, if any aid or scholarships were awarded.
Drury University Reference Form completed by an official in the Office of Student Services from the most recently attended college or university.
Architecture students with transfer work in architecture and/or art, must submit a portfolio of studio work and syllabi of non-studio architecture courses to the Hammons School of Architecture.
Students transferring from non-American universities outside the U.S. also submit:
Certified English translation of non-English transcripts
Course syllabus or content description for each course on the transcript. Without this information, Drury cannot evaluate your transcript for admission or grant transfer credit.
Verification of the number of weeks spent in class for each term, and the number of hours per week for each term of study. For example, each class met for 3 hours a week for a 15-week term.
