Guest Lecturers at the Drury Center in Volos, Greece

Throughout the duration of each term, numerous prominent scholars, researchers and professionals offer courses, lectures, workshops and reviews at the Drury Center in Volos. Past guest lecturers, reviewers and adjunct faculty have included (in alphabetical order):

  • Dimitris Antoniou, an Athens-based Architect and Adjunct Professor at the Schools of Architecture in Patras and Xanthi, who has taught the Culture and Place: the Greek Legacy course and participated in Global Studio reviews.

  • Mark Childs, Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture and Director of the Town Design Certificate Program at the University of New Mexico, who has participated in Global Studio seminars and reviews.

  • Vicky Emmanouelidou, an Athens-based Architect and past faculty member at USC's study abroad program in Italy, who has taught the Mediterranean Cultures course and participated in Global Studio reviews.

  • Dr. Vilma Hastaoglou, who has lectured on the history and urban organization of the city of Thessaloniki, and has given urban space analysis assignments within the Global Studio course.

  • Pantelis Kalaitzides, a prominent theologian in Greece, who has given numerous theology seminars on the Greek Orthodox Church.

  • Dr. Kostas Kormas, Assistant Professor at the Department of Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment at the University of Thessaly, who has taught the Undergraduate Science Research course.

  • Dr. Poppi Makri, who has lectured on archaeological excavation works of the early Christian and Byzantine times undertaken in Northern Greece under her supervision.

  • Professor Dinos Michaelides, who has lectured on his extensive research on the architectural, spatial and cultural organization of urban and rural settlements around the Aegean Sea.
