Excellent and Affordable

Financial Aid staff can help with forms

Drury is committed to providing a quality education with lifelong value, at an affordable cost!

"You can afford it! Drury's Financial Aid Office will work with you and help you find the money. I have recommended numerous students to Drury over the years, all from average, working class families and they found ways to make a Drury education possible for their sons and daughters. Don't be fooled by a price that seems lower up front . . do your homework and compare the true value of a Drury education." Darlene Graham, Teacher, Spokane High School

• Since 1999, Drury has been at or near the top on U.S. News "Great Schools at Great Prices" for the Midwest
• Drury awarded $5,933,460 in scholarships and financial aid in 2005-06
• More than 92% of Drury students receive financial aid
• Through annual contributions, alumni have poured $28 million into scholarships and the endowment
• The average Drury student graduates with less debt than students at U. Missouri, Truman State U., Missouri-Rolla, SMSU, etc.

What are the benefits for your son or daughter?

According to the U.S. Department of Education, ERIC Digest, college graduates reap plenty of non-financial benefits including:

– better health and a longer life
– higher levels of saving
– improved quality of life for their offspring
– faster progress toward career and lifestyle goals
– enhanced knowledge of world affairs and better social status

"Some parents fail to realize that a family's Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) is based upon both their assets AND the cost of the school their child plans to attend. My daughter was eligible for more financial aid if she attended a private school than she was at a public school. Now she's getting the private education she dreamed of and we're so glad we ran the numbers on both!" Mario Guerreiro, Administrator, AGTS

Did You Know?

According to The College Board, nearly 70% of students attending four-year colleges pay less than $8,000 for tuition and fees per year and 29% pay less than $4,000.

The Census Bureau reports, over the course of a student's lifespan:

• high school graduates earn an average of $1.2 million,
• associate's degree holders earn about $1.6 million,
• bachelor's degree holders earn about $2.1 million

Those with a professional degree-an M.B.A., Ph.D., J.D., or M.D.-on the average will make four to five times the monthly income of the person without a degree according to a recent study by The American Council on Education.

Why Attend a Private Institution?

Graduates of private universities are much more likely than their peers who attend public institutions to complete their degrees in four years, something lots of parents fail to factor into the cost equation. According to a UCLA study, the highest four-year completion rate-69.1 percent-is found among students at private universities, and the lowest rate-24.3 percent-occurs among students at public colleges. Then there's the question of future earning potential. Studies show that graduates from independent colleges have higher household income than their public school classmates right after graduation.

The Bottom Line

Any way you measure it, a college education is the best investment of your life. And Drury's quality and value are unparalleled. Drury has been at or near the top of the "Great Schools at Great Prices" list for the Midwest since 1999 (including 5 years in the #1 slot), and is #12 on US News and World Report's listing of Midwest Master's Universities. That's the highest ranking of ANY private college in the state of Missouri!

"Drury University provides an incredible education for the money. It's a gem!" Jenny & Henry Robinson, Colleyville, Texas
