Graduate Student Advisory Board

Purpose

The Graduate Student Advisory Board (GSAB) serves as the primary liaison between the graduate student body and the administration of the Breech School of Business Administration. As such, the board members provide a conduit for graduate business students to express their needs, concerns, and suggestions as they pertain to future planning and decision making within the Breech School of Business Administration. In addition, it is intended that the board will provide real-time evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the administrative and educational processes of the graduate business programs and will assist the administration in the formulation of initiatives for growth and improvement of the MBA program. The GSAB meets once a semester with the director/assistant director of the MBA program at the Breech School of Business.

Membership Selection Guidelines

To the extent feasible, the seen members of the GSAB will represent the diverse nature of the graduate student body. Members will normally be appointed in the fall to serve for one academic year unless removed at the discretion of the director of the MBA program. If a member does not complete the year of service, the director of the MBA program will seek nominations from existing board members and will appoint a replacement to serve for the remainder of that year. The GSAB will be reformed each fall shortly after commencement of graduate classes. New members of the GSAB will be nominated each year by the graduate administration and faculty of the Breech School of Business. The general criteria for appointment to the GSAB are high aptitude and academic achievement as reflected in GMAT test scores and GPA data, professional experience and a willingness to serve in this advisory capacity.
