Law Enforcement Academy Orientation

At the Firing Range

June 3, 2016 at 6 p.m. for the full-time academy starting July 7, 2016.

June 10, 2016 at 6 p.m. for the part-time academy starting July 14, 2016.

December 9, 2016 at 6 p.m. for the full-time academy starting January 19, 2017.

All prospective students who pass the ASSET test and are notified of their acceptance must attend the orientation to receive general information about the academy, complete various forms, and be sized for academy uniforms.

The orientation will be held in the academy classroom located in the Law Enforcement Academy building (map). The Law Enforcement Academy building is located on the SE portion of the Drury campus in Springfield. The building is red stucco on Bob Barker Blvd (formally Brower St.), one block east of Drury Lane. A $250 non-refundable application fee must be paid prior to or at the orientation.

Students must bring the following items with them to the orientation:

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship (certified copy of birth certificate issued by a State agency, passport or naturalization papers)
  • Proof of high school graduation from an accredited institution or equivalent (diploma, transcripts, or GED)
  • Black ink pen
  • Valid Missouri driver's license
  • Fingerprinting receipt

*Students who graduated from a non-public high school must provide documentation that the school is accredited by the Department of Education from that state. Students who graduated from a non-accredited high school must submit a GED certificate or have completed the ACT test with a score of 19 or better.
