Dr. Schur has a law degree from the University of Wisconsin and Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Kansas. His teaching and research explores contemporary African American culture and its relationship to American law. His articles have been published in a wide range of legal, literary, and cultural studies journals. He is the author of Parodies of Ownership: Hip Hop Aesthetics and Intellectual Property Law (2009) and co-editor of the forthcoming collection of essays, African American Culture and Legal Discourse. Dr. Schur joined the Drury University faculty in 2001.
