Student Spotlight - Sheri Walsh
Sheri Walsh is double majoring in writing and political science. She is the current president of Sigma Tau Delta, Drury’s Chapter of the International English Honors Society. Sheri came to Drury with the goal of attending law school and is making that dream a reality by completing an internship with the Springfield Public Defender’s Office.
Sheri is also getting to realize her dream of becoming a writer. Her story, “Breathtaking,” has been accepted for publication in the competitive undergraduate journal, the Sigma Tau Delta Rectangle. She will also be presenting her work at the February 2016 national Sigma Tau Delta conference in Minneapolis. Sheri says that the Drury English and writing faculty helped her gain confidence in her abilities and pushed her to strive for excellence. The writing major has given her an invaluable skill and a new career goal. “Now that I am a senior, and I am able to look back on my accomplishments here," Sheri relates, "I can confidently say that coming to Drury was the absolute best thing I have done for me and my family.”
