Dr. Kelly Lacara joined Drury in June 2009 as the Coordinator of Teacher Certification and Post-Baccalaureate Advisement.  Previously she worked as an Area Coordinator for university housing at the University of Central Florida after beginning her career at Florida Atlantic University.

While attending the University of Florida where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English (2003) and a master’s degree in Secondary English Education (2004), Dr. Lacara worked as a Resident Assistant and Graduate Assistant. She was inducted into the James C. Grimm Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary in 2001 and worked as a personal assistant to professor and author James Haskins.

Dr. Lacara was a case study contributor to the book “The College Roommate from Hell: Skills and Strategies for Surviving College With a Problem Roommate.” She also wrote the foreword for the book “Off to College: Now What? A Practical Guide to Surviving and Succeeding Your First Year of College.”

Dr. Lacara completed her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at St. Louis University in 2012. Her teaching interests include writing, education foundations, graduate education research, and higher education.
