Fitness Classes

Boot Camp

Levels 1, 2, & 3
Instructor: Brooke Martz
Classes: Tuesdays, 11am
Location: Barber Fitness Center
Description: Meeting weekly, this class is designed to build muscular strength and endurance.  All fitness levels are welcome! Each exercise will have a beginner’s version and an intermediate variation so individuals can work at their own pace.  Every Boot Camp class will be different than the previous one to expand athletic strengths.  If you are bored with your current workout or feel you are not making progress, this class is perfect for you!

Cardio Core

Levels 1 & 2
Instructor: Marie Edgar
Classes: Tuesdays, 5pm
Location: Barber Fitness Center
Description: This class will feature a combination of cardio and strength training through the use of aerobic exercise, BOSUs, dumbbells, exercise balls, and more to improve endurance and tone muscle.  Cardio Core will focus specifically on core muscles and is perfect for anyone looking for a varied and dynamic workout.

Core Intervals

Levels 2 & 3
Instructor: Ginnie Nelson
Classes: Mondays, 12pm
Location: Barber Fitness Center
Description: Core Intervals is a strength training class for those wishing to go further with their workout regimen.  Equipment and a variation of cardio and toning exercises will be used to work core muscles in order to improve strength.  If you want to be pushed in your workout, consider signing up for Core Intervals!

Couch to 5K

Level 1

Location: Barber Fitness Center
Description: Couch to 5K features two classes for all fitness levels: Couch to 5K Walkers and Couch to 5K Runners.  If you’re looking to begin a workout regimen and don’t know where to start or want a goal to work towards, this class is for you!  Classes will meet at Barber Fitness Center and travel all around campus.

Flexibility

Levels 1 & 2

Stretch & Flex – Thursdays, 12pm
Stretch & Strength – Mondays, 11am
Location: Barber Fitness Center
Description: Stretch & Flex and Stretch & Strength are focused on improving both flexibility & strength.  These classes are perfect for anyone who feels they need a gentle push getting started.  You will gain flexibility and strength by using yoga movements, light equipment, resistance bands, and much more.  This is an all levels class and everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace!

Legs & Abs

Levels 2 & 3
Instructor: Ginnie Nelson
Classes: Fridays, 11am
Location: Barber Fitness Center
Legs & Abs targets core muscles, focusing on the abdominal and leg muscles through cardio exercises, stretching, and routines.  Slow, targeted movements will be used to create a dynamic workout designed to strengthen and tone the legs and abs.  If you’re looking for a powerful addition to your workout, Legs & Abs is the class for you!

No Sweat Fitness

Level 1
Instructor: Marie Edgar
Classes: Tuesdays, 3pm
Location: Barber Fitness Center
Description: No Sweat Fitness is designed for the ultimate beginner.  Whether you’re looking for a light workout or an addition to your routine, No Sweat Fitness is for you.  This class features light cardio and basic floor exercises to start you on your fitness journey.  This is one workout you can do right before going to the office.

Pilates

Levels 1 & 2
Instructor: Marie Edgar
Classes: Tuesdays, 4pm
Location: Barber Fitness Center
Description: Strength training based upon a sequence of exercises utilizing isometric moves.  Pilates improves posture, strength, and flexibility while creating a longer and leaner look.

Spin & Tone

Levels 1 & 2

Location: Barber Fitness Center
Description: Indoor Group Cycling/Spinning is group energized but individually focused.  Classes are challenging to each individual’s fitness level in an upbeat and fast-paced environment.  Spin & Tone will be taught on new stationary bikes.  Besides being a great form of aerobic activity, indoor cycling is also beneficial in strengthening the muscles of the lower body.

Strength Training

Location: Barber Fitness Center
Description: Cardio Sculpt is a high energy, cardiovascular workout offering a perfect blend of cardio training and muscle sculpting.  Cardio sculpt will help you lose unwanted body fat while shaping muscles for a lean and tight look.  Core, Abs, & Arms uses slow, targeted movements designed to strengthen and tone the core and arms and will incorporate both stretching and cardio.

Tai Chi

Levels 1 & 2
Instructor: Dee Olgivy
Classes: Wednesdays, 3pm
Location: Barber Fitness Center
Description: Strength training based upon a sequence of exercises utilizing isometric moves.  Tai Chi is a form of Chinese martial art that uses slow movements and a focus on three main areas: health meditation, and martial art.

Yoga

Levels 1 & 2

Intro to Yoga – Thursdays, 3pm
Yoga Level 2 – Thursdays, 4pm & 5pm
Location: Yoga Studio in Weiser Gym
Description: Clear your mind and get energized with yoga.  Different postures are used in a sequence to create an active and flowing routine.  Yoga classes will increase flexibility and balance while promoting relaxation and relieving stress.

Zumba

Levels 1 & 2
Instructor: Maggie Wait
Classes: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6pm
Location: Weiser Gym
Description: Dance yourself into shape! Zumba is a combination of Latin and hip-hop dance that creates a dynamic, exciting, and effective workout.  Zumba is open to all fitness and experience levels.  If you’re looking for a fun way to get your workout in, consider taking Zumba!
