The Testing Office provides testing services and resources to students and departments of the university. The office is located in Findley Student Center (FSC) room 114. The following tests are offered:
- ACT Residual (Institutional)
The ACT Residual exam is the same ACT exam given during national test dates. It consists of subject area tests in English, Mathematics, Reading and Science. The ACT Residual exam does not include the writing portion. Residual exam scores can be used only by Drury University and cannot be sent or used by other institutions. Test results from the exam are typically available and provided to the Drury University’s Office of Admission or College of Continuing Professional Studies by the next working day. - College Basic Academic Subjects Examination (CBASE)
The CBASE is a test of general education knowledge. It consists of five parts including language arts (with writing component), mathematics, science and socials studies. The Missouri State Board of Education adopted the CBASE for use as the official assessment for entry into undergraduate professional education programs at college and universities. - College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
The CLEP program helps you receive college credit for what you already know. CLEP offers 33 exams in five subject areas covering material taught in courses that are generally taken in the first two years of college. Exams are approximately 90 minutes with the exception of College Composition which is 120 minutes. Exams contain mainly multiple-choice questions. College Composition and a few other exams contain other types of questions and essays. For more information on CLEP, visit www.collegeboard.com/clep. - Miller Analogies Test (MAT)
The MAT is used by institutions for admission into some graduate programs in social sciences, education, and the humanities. The 60 minute, computer based exam consists of 120 analogies involving analytical reasoning as well as content knowledge. Unofficial test results are available immediately after completing the test. - Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA)
The MoGEA program is a computer-based assessment program that measures educator candidates’ content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and dispositions and work styles. The MoGEA consists of subtests in English, Language Arts, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Each subtest includes multiple-choice questions. In addition, the Writing subtest includes one writing assignment. Unofficial scores (except for writing assignment) are available immediately after completing each subtest. - Praxis Series
The Praxis Series tests measure teacher candidates’ knowledge and skills. The tests are used for licensing and certification processes. Visit www.ets.org/praxis to learn more about the tests and to register.
