OCSS Program Offerings

As we are working to update our website, understand not all links on this page are currently operational. Please check back soon for more developments.

OCSS administers a range of programs to meet the various needs of businesses and organizations throughout the Ozarks. We have tried to design programs that not only help improve organizational performance, but also provide an opportunity for educating Drury students and our clients. Because most of these programs receive support through grant funding and in-kind donations, OCSS can offer them to interested organizations at little to no cost.

We hope you will explore what we have to offer, and we encourage you to contact us if you have any questions about our programs, including information on how to participate.

Grant Programs
We continually pursue local, state and federal grant opportunities to increase the type and level of services we can offer Ozarks' organizations. As a result of these efforts, OCSS has been able to secure funding to conduct grant projects in three distinct areas: diesel emissions, indoor air quality, and pollution prevention services. To learn more about these programs, including funding opportunities, please visit the respective webpages.

Ozarks GreenScore
In 2009, OCSS partnered with Drury University's Students in Free Enterprise, Springfield/Greene County Choose Environmental Excellence, and Partnership for Sustainability to develop a sustainability metric for area organizations. The result of this collaboration is Ozark GreenScore (OGS).

OGS is a simple tool organizations can use to measure their level of sustainability and to receive regional recognition for their efforts. In addition, entities that participate in the OGS program also receive assistance in identifying additional opportunities for improving their performance.

You can find more information on the tool, how to participate, and the organizations leading the way in the Ozarks by visiting the OGS website.

Internship Programs
As a part of Drury University, OCSS continues to seek ways to connect Drury students to our community. Through our work in the field, we realized many organizations have a desire to make their operations more sustainable, but little time and resources to investigate their options. At the same time, we continue to meet students eager to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings. As a result, OCSS created the Pollution Prevention (P2) Internship program.

This program connects area organizations with local undergraduate and graduate students to explore opportunities for improving an organization's sustainability. For more information on how the program works and how to participate, please visit the P2 Intern Program webpage.
