Rami Khouri, internationally-known journalist and Director of the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy at the American University of Beirut, will speak this Thursday September 20 at 7:00pm. His talk will be on "History in the Making: Understanding the Arab Uprisings in the Proper National and Political Contexts."
Khouri is one of the most respected analysts of the Middle East, and has written for the Washington Post, Boston Globe, Financial Times, and New York Times. He is the former editor of the Daily Star (Lebanon) and Jordan Times. He is a charismatic and engaging speaker, and I am sure Drury students will enjoy his discussion.
Khouri's talk is part of the Mid-American Conference on History (held at the DoubleTree Hotel, 2431 North Glenstone Avenue), and it is free and open to the public. For more information, see the conference website: http://history.missouristate.edu/conference/140051.htm
