Fall 2023 Orientation Information

For all incoming day, evening, exchange and graduate international students

All international students who plan to begin classes at Drury University in August 2023 should plan to arrive on Drury’s campus on August 14-15. As students are arranging travel, the final stop should be to the Springfield-Branson National Airport (airport code: SGF) on the days previously mentioned. Students who would like to be met at the airport and driven to the Drury campus at no charge should complete the airport pick-up request form.

Students who are 21 years or older and who plan to live off campus are responsible for arranging their own temporary and permanent housing. This may include staying in a hotel until permanent arrangements are made. Also, transportation to and from Drury’s campus is the personal and financial responsibility of each student.

Internet connectivity via WiFi will be available upon check-in, along with a temporary (optional) new SIM card for cellular devices.

If you have any questions, please email iss@drury.edu.

Advising and Registration

International students will participate in the academic advising and registration process during International Student Orientation.

Airport Pick-Up Request Form

All incoming international students must complete the airport pick-up request form.

Linen Request Form

Students are responsible for providing their own pillows, blankets, and bed/ bath linens. If you would like to have linens waiting for your arrival to the campus, there is a linen service to order things in advance. Please be aware your room will not have these essentials unless you prepare for them. View the linen request form.

Required Forms

All new students are required to fill out forms to attend Drury University. View the list of required forms.

Move-In Check List

Remember that you will have time to purchase some of these things when we take you on a shopping trip during orientation. If you have questions about what you should or should not bring to your campus housing, here is a checklist of things to consider.

Clothes

Springfield enjoys four seasons, each bringing its own beauty and fun. In August when the fall term begins, it is not (25-31 Celsius). Students dress casually for class. Classes and residence halls are air-conditioned! As autumn comes in October, the weather cools (15-23 Celsius). It is time to pull out sweaters and sweatshirts. Winters in Springfield are considered mild by the American standards (2-10 Celsius). We have a few snowy days and experience occasional cold fronts with freezing temperatures. You will need a warm winter coat. Springtime is characterized by gradual return to warmer temperatures (15-23 Celsius).

Spring suggestions:

Sportswear, T-shirts, light long-sleeved shirts, long pants, tennis shoes, etc.

Summer suggestions:

T-shirts, sleeveless shirts, shorts, bathing suit, flip-flops, sandals, etc.

Fall suggestions:

Jeans, light sweaters, light jacket, rain jacket, etc.

Winter suggestions:

Sweaters, heavy jacket, hat, gloves, scarf, boots, etc.
