The Drury Department of Safety and Security is dedicated to maintaining a safe living and learning environment for all students and members of the Drury community.

The department maintains 24-hour patrols of campus, investigates on-campus offense reports, and works with local law enforcement and emergency response personnel when necessary to ensure a safe campus.

Does Drury have a relationship with the local police for campus security?

Yes. Campus security works in partnership with the Springfield police department. We have a police substation near campus that we have access to for campus security.

Does Drury have security on campus for students who have to walk back from evening classes?

We have 24/7 security on campus. If a student doesn’t feel comfortable walking on their own, we have security available to walk or drive them back to their car or housing. To request an escort, call (417) 873-7911.

How can I stay connected with security on campus?

Drury has an emergency alert system. Students are automatically signed up to receive both email and text alerts. Families can sign up for text alerts as well. 

Does Drury have active shooter trainings?

Drury Safety and Security holds active shooter training for staff, faculty, and students every year. We also hold training for fire and tornado drills throughout the year for the entire campus.
