Drury Dictionary

What does THAT mean?

Whether you are a new student, parent or prospective student, you have likely run into a few acronyms and some Drury-specific terms that you are not quite sure about. This Drury Dictionary was created FOR students and parents BY students.

O-Leader = Orientation Leader

A student leader who is assigned to a specific CORE 101 section. Your O-Leader will hang out with you during orientation and plan events to help you get to know your classmates and the campus better.

RA = Resident Assistant

A student leader who organizes events in the residence halls and works to ensure a positive living and learning experience.

HD = Hall Director

The staff person in charge of the residence hall and RA staff in their building.

The Commons = Cafeteria

Located in the FSC (Findlay Student Center), this is where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Food is available cafeteria-style and is all-you-can-eat.

The CX = The Campus Exchange

A bistro style dining option located on the first floor of Springfield Hall.

Credit Hour

The number listed is the amount of time that you will spend in the classroom per week. The majority of classes are 3 credit hours.

Meal Plan

A set amount of meals you purchase each semester. Unused meals do not roll over from semester to semester.

Panther Bucks

Each meal plan includes a set amount of Panther Bucks, which can be used in both the Commons and CX. Panther Bucks roll over from first semester to second and terminate at the end of the year. If students run out of Panther Bucks within the year, students can pay with cash or card.
