Dr. Gilstrap directs the Graduate Program in Communication as well as the Social Media Certificate.  Additionally, he teaches courses in Ethics and Communication, Persuasion & Rhetoric as well as courses within the Graduate Program’s Organizational Leadership and Change Emphasis. He has taught classes in Rhetorical Theory, Histories of American Rhetorical Discourse, Argumentation and Advocacy, Public Communication for Technology Students, primary and intermediate Public Speaking, and Forensic Speech laboratories.  His scholarly interests include environmental/ecological communication and criticism, general rhetorical theory, and nonprofit communication. Professor Gilstrap is the author of multiple articles, chapters, and adjudicated conference papers.
