We’d love to share more about your professional success with our current and future students – please describe your career path to this point as well as your current profession:
After graduating from Drury, I went back to Spain and started working for MAPFRE, an insurance company that has operations all around the world.  In order for me to get a better understanding of the company and the industry MAPFRE developed a one of a kind intense training program.  This 18 month long program was tremendously enriching, it was like a tailored master program.

After a lot of traveling I finally landed in MAPFRE USA and joined their operations in California, where MAPFRE is expecting to develop and grow the business.

How did your experiences in the Breech School of Business prepare you for your professional career?
Since Drury is such a close community it allows you to develop strong relationships with other students and professors.  These close relationships allow you to share/compare ideas and points of view.

Joining SIFE (Enactus) was probably one of the best things I did at Breech.  Working with other teammates toward a common goal while helping the community was exciting. The lessons I learned at SIFE (Enactus) helped me during my transition between the academic and the professional world.

Were there any specific courses or areas of study that were especially useful to you?
The combination of my three majors gave me a well-rounded education. In addition to graduate from Breech you must complete a certain number of internship hours.  I completed two-summer internship during my college years.  These real world experiences truly allowed me to determine what career path I wanted to follow after graduation.

Do you have any favorite memories inside the Breech building?
I remember a few of the challenges we encountered during certain SIFE projects, and the great feeling of accomplishment when the entire organization works toward overcoming those challenges with the goal of improving the community.

What advice would you offer to a new student beginning their course of study in the Breech School of Business?
It is a tough and competitive world out there, Drury will prepare you to tackle it, but you must always look forward and be ambitious. Do not procrastinate on your search for summer internships.  The best internships are gone by January/February. Try to have as many real world experiences as possible.
