Kenneth Carter, retired chairman of Commerce Bank in Springfield, is very active in civic affairs. Previous board positions or organizational memberships include Community Foundation of the Ozarks (past chairman), Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce (past chairman), Springfield Business and Development Corporation (past president), Partnership Industrial Center Administrative Council (past president), Cox Medical Center (past president), Family Achievement Academy (past chairman), Ozarks Public Television (past chairman), Young Presidents’ Organization, Jaycees, Kiwanis Club, United Way of the Ozarks, Cancer Crusade, Ozarks Council Boy Scouts, Greene County Planning and Zoning Commission, Junior Achievement, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri, Missouri Council on Economic Education and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield.

While a student at Drury, Ken was active in Lambda Chi Alpha. He is married to Pat. His children are Kelly ’95 and Scott who passed away in 2017.
