How to Make an Appointment with Counseling Services

Drury University > Behavioral Health Services > How to Make an Appointment with Counseling Services

Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Please e-mail a counselor by filling out this form to schedule an appointment. This is the preferred method, and you will likely be scheduled much sooner than if you call. If you would like to speak to a provider, feel free to visit us in the Findlay Student Center (Room 114) or call for an appointment at (417) 873-7418. A provider will schedule an appointment with you as soon as their schedule permits. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Who Can Utilize Behavioral Health Services?

Any enrolled full-time day student at Drury University may use our services. The services provided by Burrell Behavioral Health are free, voluntary, and confidential.

What Happens Next?

During the first session, you and the provider will complete the initial intake, explore your current concerns, and set therapy goals. Together with your Burrell on Campus provider, you will decide if on campus services are the best resource available to meet your needs and help you achieve your goals. Should an outside referral be indicated (e.g., the student requires a higher level of specialty resources), then the Burrell on Campus provider can assist the student in utilizing the Student Assistance Program (SAP). This program avails the student to five free sessions with a specialty provider for outpatient therapy at Burrell Behavioral Health.

Confidentiality

Burrell Behavioral Health staff regards your contact with us and the issues you discuss as private and confidential. We will not share information with anyone outside of Burrell on Campus staff without your informed consent.

The only exceptions to this policy occur in specific instances involving danger or serious harm to you or others, child and elder abuse, and by court order.
