Drury's Online Paralegal Program Among Best in Nation
Drury University’s online Associate of Science in Paralegal Studies was ranked 4th among such programs nationwide by TheBestSchools.org. The program is offered through Drury’s College of Continuing Professional Studies and can be completed entirely online. It marks at least the fourth time this year that a Drury online degree program has been recognized as one of the best, and most affordable, in the nation by a college rankings company.
“Through emphasizing foundational aspects of paralegal practice, the program promotes in students a thorough understanding of the American legal system,” TheBestSchools.org said in regard to Drury’s program.
Drury’s Paralegal Studies degree provides a conceptual appreciation for the essential principles, doctrines, rules, and structural elements required for the the practice of law. Focused topics of study include American court systems, constitutional law, criminal law, civil law (including torts, contract law, and family law), legal research, legal writing, discovery, and interviewing and investigating.
Program graduates have promising career prospects in a variety of legal roles.
“According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2017), the paralegal profession currently expects a job outlook of 8% growth for 2014–2024,” TheBestSchools.org said.
The rankings company also praised Drury’s program for balancing classroom learning and real-world experience. As part of their education, Drury students participate in a practicum internship with a practicing attorney.
Recently, Drury’s online bachelor’s degree programs in Human Services and Health Services Management, and its online associate’s degree program in Criminal Justice also ranked as among the nation’s best in similar rankings studies.
