Alpha Sigma Lambda
Alpha Sigma Lambda’s aim is to recognize the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests of home and work. Alpha Sigma Lambda is dedicated to the advancement of scholarship and recognizes high scholastic achievement in an adult student’s career. By so doing, this Society encourages many students to continue toward and to earn associate and baccalaureate degrees.
The national society awards scholarships to high-achieving adult students. Application packets are available during the spring semester. Membership in Alpha Sigma Lambda is not a requirement for the scholarship.
Drury University’s Evening College established its Alpha Xi Chapter in 1969 and has inducted over 1,000 students to date. We enjoy celebrating our hardworking adult students each fall and spring at our induction ceremonies.
To join the Alpha Xi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda, students may contact their academic advisors, or apply through MyDrury. The eligibility requirements are as follows:
- Members must have been in regular credit courses for the minimum of 30 semester hours, and be enrolled in either the associate or bachelor’s degree program.
- Members must have been in attendance in the College of Continuing Professional Studies for a minimum of 4 semesters.
- To be extended an invitation, the students must have a grade point average of 3.3 and 30 or more credit hours, or 3.0 and 90 or more credit hours.
