Dr. Mary Utley Receives the 2016 Mentor Award

Dr. Mary Utley, Professor of Psychology, has received The 2016 Mentor Award from the Southeastern Psychological Association (SEPA). SEPA is the largest psychological organization in the southeast and is also one of the largest in the United States. Its mission is to advance psychology as a science, as a profession, and as a means of promoting human welfare. In 2004, the SEPA established the Mentor Award with the support of the Education Directorate of the American Psychological Association (APA).

Mary was selected from a diverse pool of nominees because she has involved large numbers of students in the annual SEPA meetings, shepherded the careers of other SEPA members, supervised and taught various members of the SEPA, and has worked diligently to develop the knowledge, professional skills, competencies, and character of our undergraduate students at Drury.

Congratulations to Dr. Mary Utley. She is an exceptional mentor for our students!
