Associate Professor Dudley Murphy has been with Drury since 1978. He has taught many classes in the Design Arts major including Graphic Design I/II, Publication Design, Concept & Design, Senior Capstone, and several levels of Advanced Graphic Design. He is the faculty sponsor of the student organization, VisCom.

In 1990, Dudley designed the Visual Communications Program and was responsible for the installation of the Art Department's first computer lab. He is an active designer, photographer, and publisher. His current publication is a semi-annual fishing collectibles magazine, called Fishing Lure Collectables.  His book, Straw, is included in the collection of the Corcora Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.

As a sculptor, his work has been exhibited throughout the country including the Contemporary International in Chico, California; A one year traveling exhibition under the auspices of the Missouri State Council of the Arts, Mid-America 4 & 5, Nelson Gallery in Kansas City, Missouri; the St. Louis Art Museum in St. Louis, Missouri; the South Dakota National Sculpture Competition in Brookings, South Dakota.

Dudley is also an accomplished guitarist, most recently playing with the nationally acclaimed band Radio Flyer.
