Urban design can be a powerful tool in formulating ideological narratives. Within the contested landscape of East Jerusalem, government and planning practices often construct narratives that exclude the right to the city for Palestinian and other inhabitants. This project proposes viewing the inhabitation of contested barrier zones from multiple perspectives in order to question the homogenous and single-sided expression of urban environments, while simultaneously proposing new ways of experiencing layered historical sites.
