Director of Athletics
Mark Fisher, who began his first year as Drury University’s Vice President and Director of Athletics on July 1, 2015, has already left his mark on the university’s NCAA-II athletics program. In this short time, Fisher has instituted the addition of an NCAA-II wrestling program and has hired a full-time men’s and women’s track and field coach, a first in that program’s history. In addition to Fisher’s NCAA-II responsibilities, Fisher is also responsible for club sports. In that role, he has added non-NCAA club sports like bowling and bass fishing. Prior to coming to Drury, Fisher compiled a list of distinguished accomplishments, both on and off the court, having nearly three decades of involvement with athletics at the high school level. Most recently, Fisher served for 12 years as the Athletic Director for Springfield Public Schools and also served as the Tournament Director for the prestigious Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions – the most attended prep basketball tournament in the nation. In 2015, Fisher was inducted into the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame.
