Mary Jane Pool is an author and lecturer. In 1981, she retired from The Conde Nast Publications, Inc. after 35 years on the staffs of Vogue and House & Garden magazines. She was editor-in-chief of House & Garden from 1970 through 1980.
A consultant to The Baker Furniture Company and Aves Incorporated from 1981 through 1994, she also served as a director of the Aves Company. She is currently on the boards of The Isabel O'Neil Foundation, The Decorative Arts Trust, and The American Friends of Bleramcourt, The Franco-American Museum near Paris. Her books include The Angel Tree, published by Knopf, The Gardens of Venice and The Gardens of Florence, published by Rizzoli, The Angel Tree - A Christmas Celebration and Gardens in the City - New York in Bloom, published by Abrams.
Mary Jane served on the buildings and grounds committee of Drury’s Board of Trustees and received the Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Drury in 2002.
